Working To Resolve Child Custody Disputes
When children are part of a divorce, the most important thing to keep in mind is what will be in their best interests. This can make child custody determinations difficult to resolve. It is important to seek help from an advocate who understands the best way to forge a path forward.
At Frost & Carey, LLC, our attorneys provide experienced family law representation to people who are involved in child custody disputes. We will work hard to help protect not only your children’s interests but your interests as well.
Legal Custody, Physical Custody And Visitation
There are two types of custody that the court may award to one or both parents. Legal custody grants a parent or parents the right to make decisions regarding a child’s health, education, extracurricular activities and religious upbringing. Physical custody is pretty self-explanatory. This refers to where a child will spend most of his or her time. In general, if a parent is not awarded custody, he or she may still have a right to visitation.
Modifying Custody Determinations
Custody may need to be modified for any number of reasons. Perhaps a job offer requires you to relocate. Perhaps an ex is unable to care properly for your child. Whatever the situation may be, we can help make a case for or against a modification to a custody order.
